At the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, Sofia Vergara made a bold move: Coordinating her lipstick shade with her gown. How did her makeup artist Kayleen McAdams pull it off without looking cheesy? “Choosing a shade that matched the dress but wasn’t too thick or pigmented,” she says. “The color is similar, but because it’s sheer, the lip is very dimensional.” In this case, McAdams’s perfect hue was CoverGirl’s Lip Perfection in Rapture ($6, drugstore.com). “It’s a creamy, see-through coral that’s just a touch softer than the color of the dress,” she adds.
